Was wondering about sudden spike in interest in a 2012 post on Swami Vivekananda’s 1893 Chicago address. Soon a forwarded message on a WhatsApp group forwarded me the simple answer.
An audio clip is currently spreading fast on the popular instant messaging network claiming to be that of Swami Vivekananda’s original voice.
But the truth remains that this voice isn’t that of Vivekananda’s but instead belongs to one Subir Ghosh and has been extracted from a collection titled Chicago Speeches – Swami Vivekananda published by RPG Group and was available online on HamaraCD.com (an archived version of the page can be accessed here)
For a more detailed analysis with further evidence that the audio clip that many believe to be that of Vivekanda’s doesn’t actually contain his voice, I suggest that you read the original post from 2012.
