Yes, there is indeed a General Reginald Dyer connection with Mohan Meakin. It was his father Edward Dyer who in 1855 set up the first brewery in India at Kasauli. HG Meakin bought some breweries from Edward Dyer and the two companies merged after the First World War to form Dyer Meakin & Company, that in 1935 became Dyer Meakin Breweries Limited (after Burma was separated from India and also the company’s assets).
