When a new year begins, we all clamour for our calendars. Most are easy to get (including Cutting the Chai calendar), others harder to own.
While the glamourous type make the most news [1, 2 ], there are some gems that we are often unaware of.
Ogilvy & Mather created a very creative calendar for India Post for 2009. The calendar went on to win a bronze (Design, Corporate or Brand Identity, Calendars) at the 57th Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, in addition to other coveted advertising awards.
This limited edition calendar (with an initial print of 100 copies, followed by another 100) captures the year-long festival that is India. Every day of the year is represented by a postage stamp.
While I would like to have this calendar (no matter what year it is for) on my living room wall, I have to seek gratification in only a few images.
PS: If anyone out there owns a copy and doesn’t need it, please send it my way. I’ll even pay for the postage.
Just 200 of them! And the Indian Post serves millions. The math doesn’t work out. I’d love one too.
